About me
I'm Vikas Yadav, an IT professional and technology enthusiast, passionate about infrastructure, automation and software development.
My journey in technology is about solving real-world problems through practical engineering. From troubleshooting enterprise IT environments and managing systems, to deploying Linux servers and building custom internal applications, I enjoy working across different areas of technology.
I believe technology should do more than just work. It should simplify operations, improve productivity and create smarter ways of working.
Right now I focus on IT infrastructure, AI-powered automation, backend development, server management, and tools that solve everyday business problems.
01Internal application · full-stack
IT asset management platform. It replaced manual Excel tracking with one structured system.
Centralised IT asset records and allocation.
The original asset dataset, moved into a structured system.
Nginx, PM2 and PostgreSQL on a Hostinger server.
02Internal application · AI-assisted
Store property and preventive maintenance management: tasks, checklists, assignments and reports.
Preventive maintenance, assignments and MIS reporting in one app.
AI-assisted development, a React front end and a Postgres back end.
Checking a user's GPS location against the assigned store.
03Internal workflow
Event planning, tasks and responsibilities, coordinated in one place.
Centralised information and workflow tracking.
To keep the event transaction records accurate.
Store-level coordination and operational reporting.
04Where I have worked
Desktop support first, then an IT Executive role with software and infrastructure work.

Internal business application · Full-stack development
IT asset management for the whole company. The goal: manage IT assets in one place, make inventory tracking simple, and turn manual Excel tracking into a structured digital system.
01The business problem
Tracking laptops, desktops and other IT assets across large retail operations is hard. These are the questions it had to answer.
Which employee holds which asset, today.
Which store or office it sits in, and whether it is damaged.
New joiner allocation, serial number and ownership.
Assignment history and current status, in one place.
02What I developed
Each module covers one part of how the company handles an asset.
The original asset dataset. Its nine columns were kept, and four were added: status, assignment date, last updated and created date.
03Under the hood
Built as a full-stack web application and prepared for deployment on the company's own Ubuntu VPS.
A protected seed-data approach means the initial company data is not overwritten when the application is updated.
04My contribution
From spotting the problem to running it on a server.
Internal business application · AI-assisted development
A store property and preventive maintenance management system. Store maintenance, operational tasks, assignments and reporting, managed in one application.
01The business problem
Coordinating maintenance and operations across retail stores by hand is difficult.
Keeping track of maintenance activities across stores.
Spotting pending tasks quickly.
Assigning tasks to the right team members.
Following preventive maintenance, and keeping reports for store activities.
02Application modules
The application is organised into five modules.
Store-related operational information and centralised store-level management.
Structured checklists for recurring maintenance and task completion.
Assign store activities and track their progress.
Financial P&L, EBITDA and management reporting dashboards.
Store-related events and event-team workflows.
03How it was built
AI-assisted development: business requirements turned into working screens and workflows.
The aim: check a user's GPS location against the assigned store before check-in, check-out or task completion. Still being worked on.
04My contribution
From understanding the store problem to improving the app with the business.
Internal business workflow
An internal Events Management System to simplify event coordination and operational workflows. It digitises event processes, centralises information, organises responsibilities and improves coordination between teams.
01Business requirements
Event management needs coordination between different teams.
Planning and scheduling events across teams.
Event-related tasks, and who is responsible for them.
Store and event coordination, with activity status tracking.
Centralised event information, with reporting and management visibility.
02Key areas
What the application is built around.
So the event transaction records stay accurate.
03My role
I turned business requirements into application workflows and built the system with AI-assisted development tools.
Turning operational requirements into practical internal software, using AI-assisted development.
From IT operations to AI-assisted development
I started with limited coding knowledge, but I wanted to solve real business problems through technology. AI helps me write code. I own the requirements, the business logic, the testing, the deployment and the upkeep.
01My process
The route every application takes, from a business problem to daily internal use.
Business problem → requirements → AI-assisted architecture → development → testing → deployment → internal usage.
02Tools I use
What I use through the journey.
AI-powered application development.
Planning, coding and debugging help.
Version control and source management.
Database and backend services.
Code editing and development.
Application hosting and infrastructure.
03What I own
Using AI does not replace the engineering judgement behind the work.
Understanding the requirement and deciding the business logic.
Testing features against real business scenarios.
Deployment and maintenance are part of my engineering work.
Infrastructure and hosting
An important part of my work goes beyond building screens: learning to deploy and manage applications on a Linux server.
01Server environment
The setup behind my internal applications.
02Deployment architecture
From a browser to the database, in six steps.
Staff open the application from its own domain.
Cloudflare and DNS configuration.
Ubuntu: the central application server.
Routes incoming application requests.
Application processes and services.
Persistent application data.
03Deployment responsibilities
Day-to-day work on the server.
Desktop, service desk and hardware
L1 and L2 support for users, hardware and network work, and the daily operations that keep a multi-location retail business running.
01What I handle
The problems I fix, and what I fix them with.
Laptop, desktop and printer troubleshooting.
Tickets logged, tracked and closed.
Fixing problems without leaving the desk.
Windows installs, drivers, Outlook, printers and system restore. Plus IT asset management.
02Networking and hardware
Cabling done neatly and labelled, backed by CCNA coursework.
Switches and patch panels.
Kept tidy so the next person can follow it.
Supporting the network team.
Part of my BCA practical work.
03Where I did it
Desktop support at two companies, before moving into an IT Executive role.
